VACCINATION POLICY

YOUR PETS’ VACCINATION CERTIFICATE/S MUST BE EMAILED TO US BEFORE ARRIVAL
Vaccination certificate must clearly show the DATE, TYPE & BRAND of Vaccination, your Pet’s NAME and the Administering Vet Clinic.

Owners need to be aware that while vaccines are designed to limit their pets’ risk of contracting a disease from other animals or their environment and reduce the severity of any infection or disease they may contract no Vaccination program is 100% reliable and your pet may still contract or incubate an infection through contact.

Some pets may be more susceptible than others (for example aged, puppies/kittens, or pets with compromised immune systems or under stress). All care is taken to ensure our The Ruff Barn is maintained hygienically and professionally and we adhere to strict Vaccination requirements – any Pet not adhering to our policy will be refused entry for the safety and well-being of other Pets in our care.

IMPORTANCE OF VACCINATING OUR PETS

Vaccinating pets is crucial for their health and well-being, especially in environments like pet boarding services where animals are in close contact. Vaccinations protect pets from contagious and potentially fatal diseases, such as rabies, distemper, and parvovirus, reducing the risk of outbreaks. By ensuring all pets are vaccinated, boarding facilities create a safer environment, minimizing health risks and providing peace of mind to pet owners. Moreover, vaccinated pets contribute to the overall herd immunity, safeguarding not just individual pets but the entire pet community. Prioritizing vaccinations is a responsible and essential practice for maintaining a healthy and safe boarding experience.

HOW LONG BEFORE THEIR STAY SHOULD BOOSTERS BE GIVEN?

Vaccinations are essential to develop enough immunity to protect your pet from infections. It typically takes 3-14 days for the vaccine to build this immunity. Additionally, since your pet could be incubating a contagious disease when receiving the booster, it's important to wait at least 14 days after the booster before boarding.
